getting the FreeBSD port into the subversion tree

It was recently suggested to me by Will Andrews that it might be
useful to have the FreeBSD port for subversion committed to the
subversion tree, as the rpm packaging scripts currently are.

This would allow us, in the future to have a more up to date version
of the port available from us than is in the FreeBSD tree, since there
is sometimes some lag in getting updates committed there.

For now it would give us the advantage of having the port more
available to people who are interested in using subversion on FreeBSD.
Until subversion hits Beta, we won't be commiting the port into the
FreeBSD tree, but until then it would be nice if it was easier to find
the port. At the moment they have to search through the mailing list
archives to find a link to the tarball on my web site, and as a result
at least two separate people have commented to me that they were
thinking of putting together a port, not knowing that I had already
done it myself.

If other people also feel that this packaging work should live in the
subversion tree, the tarball is currently living at
http://electricjellyfish.net/subversion.tar.gz, so feel free to commit
the files it contains to subversion/packages/freebsd or something like
that. Or, if you don't want to grab the tarball and extract the port
yourself, I could produce a patch that adds it tonight when I have
access to my FreeBSD machine again.

Thanks,

-garrett
