Yup, the problem is that I don't know what word or terms to search
for.

Is DeltaV ACTIVITY, something to look for?

I've skimmed the design document, without finding something similar.
I've also searched the design document (for "activity" and "change"),
and searched the email archive for the words "change lists", and the
one year old email was the best I found.

When I just now searched the mail archive for ACTIVITY, I found this,
which seems to be an ACTIVITY implementation in subversion...?
