My problems with the envelope header (last week) were also specific to this
list and setup. I have never seen it before.
IMO, it sucks ass.
Why should I have to alter the operation of my mail client just to satisfy
the needs of this mailing list software? I happen to be lucky in that my
Linux setup allows me to set the envelope-from. What about the poor saps who
can't set it? Heck, there are some people who can't even set the From:
header.
This falls into the same category as trying to compensate for Reply-To:
munging with the mail client. "solve it with your mail client" is never a
very good answer, IMO -- people just have too much disparity to always kick
problems back at them.
