My original Neon instructions listed a caveat about that dependency -- some
manual intervention is required (e.g. delete the stuff from the dependency
line in libneon.la).

Since then, I figured the correct approach is to pass the absolute path in
the --with-expat switch. Thus, the dependency will be correct no matter
where you are when you use libneon.la.
