Unfortunately, the -P option cannot tell the difference between directories
that have gone away and directories that really should be empty. It happens
that in the EROS code base (which is where I have used CVS most heavily)
there are empty directories that need to be preserved.

I know I could put a turd file in them to preserve them, but I hate turd
files. No good reason for that; I just find them distasteful.
