duplicate checking limit and search algorithm

Is there currently a hard limit on duplicate checking results?

I am using the scarab a20 release. I'm initially testing on a Fedora
Core 3 box and the target deployment platform will be RedHat Advanced
Server 4.

If I define a field to check for duplicates and then enter a defect I
can see no more than 26 possible duplicate matches. They appear in
sequential order, oldest defects first. In addition, the algorithm
appears to be doing an "OR" with the key words entered (instead of an
"AND") thus returning more results for more key words. This means that
the more items there are in the system and the more keywords included in
the field, the wider the result set (which is then truncated).

Is there a way to change the algorithm to "AND" the keywords? What
about increasing the limit on the results list?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ben
