I have found an 'old' Debian stable box on which I could create a
'svnadmin dump' successfully.

However, I cannot run that box as a server. Hence my questions:

- Does it help for the server if I create all the repositories
  freshly?

- I would like to create out of the large repository a set of smaller
ones. Is svndumpfilter the tool to use?

Thanks for all your help!

wbr,
Lukas
