spell checker Windows 10

If you use a Windows 10 PC the commit spell checker checks for you mother language. The properties flag for the project is set to 1033 what is US English.
I havn't found a way to change the spell checker back to English.
E.g. In my case my win PC is set up in German. All commit spell checking is done in German, what is quite annoying for english projects.
Can anybody help ?
