Re: Bug with the 1.4 icons?

You may need to check your shell extensions (or registry). If you have one that references an non-existent resource (like a network drive that's no longer there), it can severely slow down explorer response time. Perhaps something like this is delaying the TSVN shell response so that it's really working, but it's just so slow that you don't see it.

You can get an extension viewer here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

I had a similar problem (not related to TSVN) a long while back at work.

Unfortunately, I can't remember enough specifics to be more helpful. However, If you've recently renamed network drive resources, you can search the registry for references to the old drive. That's how I found my problem at work.

Good Luck

It's me again...

An update on this: something has changed and now 1.3 also does not
have the overlays showing correctly to me. I wonder if this has
something to do with the upgrades performed on the working copies
when using 1.4.

I verified that no other installed application is using icon overlays
and the following operations make the icons show as expected only
until the next operation:

1) running a cleanup (like it's noted somewhere in the docs);
2) killing TSVNCache.exe (maybe it cleans something);

My situation now: back to 1.4 with icon overlay cache set to "shell",
trying to see if I can easily identify which files have changed.

Now since the problem seems to happen only with me, what else could
affect the behaviour of icon overlays? My system don't seem to have
any other application using it (I checked the registry).

Or is there any recent changes in how TSVNCache works that could
affect the overlays? I'm not following the development, but I'm trying
to look at the sources and recent changes to see if something could
explain this.

Thanks again,

-Marcos
