Vista problems

I had a problem in regards to downloading. There were compatibility issues
with Pinnacle Studio Plus 10, so I went to download the patch from
Pinnaclesys.com. I went to go and save the .exe file to my desktop, but when
I selected "save" a pop came up and said the file was an unknown file from
unknown source and had been moved to Temporary Internet Folders. After going
to Temporary Internet Folders to retrieve the file, the .exe file was
nowhere to be found. I then went back to download the file again to the
desktop and in the save pop up I saw the file for the patch I just
downloaded was on the desktop. I quickly got excited and minimized
everything to find that the file wasn't on the desktop. I pulled the save
pop up box again and saw that it was there, but in fact, when everything was
minimized again, nothing was on the desktop. This sounds like a hidden file
or security issue. Has anyone experienced a problem like this and maybe have
a solution?

Thanks so much!
