ResText questions

I have a couple of questions re: ResText....

I am part of an open source project and we want to implement "localisation".
It is a Windows MFC program compiled under MS's VS2005. We are going down
the route of resource-only DLLS, which is not a problem - I think I
understand it.

The way I understand how ResText works is that it takes the source DLL and
replaces strings in it to produce the new "target" DLL.

But how does it handle Dialog string resources? I can well imagine that a
phrase of 5 words in English could become 8 or more words in, say, German.
This, potentially, would not then fit into space on the dialog control for
this text. Making the original dialog control large enough for any possible
language translation at design time would make the dialogs look bad for
most.

Similarly, it does not seem to extract the Version Information to allow that
to be translated and I couldn't see if it changed the language ID within the
version information either. If it is there, I am sorry as I must have
missed it.

Thanks in advance

David
