Well I'll be unprintabled. I can't imagine how or when such a bug could
have slipped through; and it's not RA-specific, either.

As mentioned elsewhere: this may be a new bug. Otherwise I'm sure it'd
have been caught in the 1.0 testing, 15+ years ago ...

Norbert, congratulations, you found a bug that we'd all have expected to
be impossible. Regarding the "what were we thinking" rant in your blog;
clearly, we were thinking that this bug could not possibly have crept
through all our testing. And we were mistaken.

Duh.
