There are no schema changes, but 1.9 is faster at many working copy
operations due to more optimized queries.

Absolutely; the release notes are not final until 1.9.0 is released;
that's why they're not published on our site (i.e., there's no link to
the 1.9 release notes on the site). We'll be updating them until the
last minute.
