svnadmin verify does work on the box with the drives.

# svnadmin verify /home/phaley/Papers/2011/ArpitVel/SvnPaper
* Verified revision 0.
* Verified revision 1.
(and so on)

I've scheduled a reboot on a client. I'll let you know
how that works out.
