Subversion exception when commiting with TortoiseSVN

From: Tom Robinson <tom_at_tjrobinson.net>
Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2013 11:48:20 +0100

Client version (Windows 8):

TortoiseSVN 1.8.1, Build 24570 - 64 Bit , 2013/07/22 18:28:29
Subversion 1.8.1, -release
apr 1.4.8
apr-util 1.5.2
serf 1.3.0
OpenSSL 1.0.1e 11 Feb 2013
zlib 1.2.8

Server version (SubversionEdge on Windows 2008 R2):

Software version 4.0.1-3680.113
Subversion version 1.8.1-3680.113

Exception

In file

'D:\Development\SVN\Releases\TortoiseSVN-1.8.1\ext\subversion\subversion\libsvn_client\commit_util.c'
line 211: assertion failed (repos_root_url && repos_relpath)

I was committing approximately 20 files, some adds, some moves, some
deletes. I was warned that it would be committing recursively (can't
remember the exact message). The same commit worked fine the second time.
