There is no configuration setting for this. I would recommend fixing your
dns (probably by adding an ipv4 alias to the server) or running your server
(also) on ipv6 as that immediately fixes it for all users of your
repository.
A client setting would require all clients to be configured specifically,
while DNS was invented to avoid that.
