I did that (obviously) without any svn:properties.

Is there any chance that this may be caused when another svn exist
further behind in PATH? (My 1.7 is in '$HOME/svn17'.) That is, that
svn picks up additional files from elsewhere?

Will try soon to build on a regular, if old, linux box.
