Which version of Subversion are you using on the server side and what
does those large files look like or of what type are they? Subversion
compresses files, creates diffs and starting with version 1.6(?) is
able to deduplicate commits by default. I have some repositories where
I commit MSI-installers and all stuff of binary files for one of our
applications and Subversion 1.6 saved GB of space.
