Find out whether a directory is external

Hi,

Is it true that the only way to find out whether a directory residing
somewhere deep in a working copy tree is included via "svn:externals" is
to check the parent directory?

Svn status on the directory itself (as well as the API calls via
SharpSVN) seem to give no indication, only when doing status on the
parent directory I get two infos / events about that directory - one
telling that it is external, and the other one telling the actual state
of the directory.)

Thanks,

Markus
