Quoting from the article:

    WANdisco states that this work will commence immediately following
the Subversion 1.7 release (where WANdisco's Subversion development
team are the major contributors) and is slated for completion in 2011.

Whether this means we have anything to worry about WANdisco upgrading
it into confusion depends on when you think the release date for 1.7
will be, and whether anyone will use it in the next 5 years. (I'm
still having a lot of trouble getting clients to upgrade from 1.4.x.)
