Next time, I suggest making a subject which is more suggestive of the
subject you're actually talking about. I guess just drop "newbie doubt"
from the existing subject. Subversion is a pretty enormously deployed,
pretty widely supported application... Any problems you encounter almost
certainly have logical explanation if you only need to have more intimate
knowledge. In other words, in the future, assume it's working as designed,
and if you don't get what you expect, then assume you're expecting something
which isn't designed.

Svn works fine on windows and linux, OSX, and many other platforms alike.
There are some differences, but nothing as dramatic as "it's broken in
windows, can't import" etc.
