svn:ignore patterns are apr_fnmatch() patterns, and apr_fnmatch() does
accept regex-like [a-z] expressions in its patterns, so you could try

[a-z][a-z][a-z][a-z][a-z]

to ignore all 5-lowercase-character filenames. :-)
