RE: Using Subversion with online storage and file protocol

Thanks everyone for your answers. Blair's response phrased my primary
concern better than I could - whether or not the semantics of a cloud
storage file system would allow the file:/// protocol to work correctly. To
which it seems the answer is, "who knows?".

Having read your responses I have decided not to do what I proposed.
Unfortunately it really is going to be tricky for us to host our own
(reliable) server - all of the developers have fairly nomadic lifestyles, so
wherever we located the server it would be unattended for much of the time.
We don't want to be in a situation where the server crashes leaving us
without access to the repository for a few days until someone can get to it
to repair/reboot.

Looks like Git/Mercurial might work well, I will investigate further.

Thanks,

Andy
