Installing Subversion on BlueHost Server

Hi All

We have BlueHost(BH) server and we need svn client to be installed on it. We
have permissions to write on the /home/user/ folder only.
We have tried to install subversion 1.6.6 in it but we are unable to get it
done. Find the below information on what we have? and what we did?

*What We have?*
Permissions to the /home/user/ folder.
Apache was already installed in the BH.

What we need?*
We need an svn (client is sufficient, we will do only client operation
there) to be installed in the BH.

*What we did?*

   - We have created a folder svn_soft in the our allocated home folder.
   - Download the subversion.1.6.6 and its dependencies (tar files) to that
   folder and untared them.
   - Executed the ./configure command, the command we have used is
   - ./configure --prefix=/home1/user/svn_soft/svn --without-berkeley-db
   - It had checked for all required configurable values and at last thrown
   a warning regarding the berkeley DB.
   - I, then executed the "Make" and then "Make Install" command. All the
   process got executed without any break but the svn not installed.
   - When i observe what the Make Install command did, then i noticed that
   some directories like apr and other are not created, I have noticed the
   messages like "Leaving the folder svn-apr" like that.

What could be the problem? I have no experience in installing the svn in a
pure linux machine.

Please, any one help me to make success in installing the SVN. I am unable
to experiment on the BH server as it has some code which is running live.
So, give me your valuable suggestion on how can do it carefully without
losing anything.
