They were two different RPMs installed (at different times) on the
same physical system. The APR is the RedHat-supplied one,
apr-1.2.7-11.el5_3.1.

The RedHat guys now think this may be a Solaris NFS protocol bug
having to do with exclusive creates. I've sent them a packet capture
to verify, since I don't know enough about NFSv4 on the protocol level
to say one way or the other.
