I am asking you to add a feature.

The fact is that this: There are valid reasons to remove an item from
version control without deleting it from working copies.

There are a number of scenarios where I would want to do this, in
addition to the examples I gave. It's not productive to focus on the
examples.

Search the 'net and you will find a lot of other people who have the
same request.
