1. Create a dir in a workspace
svn co svn://myrepos/trunk
cd trunk
svn mkdir my
svn mkdir my/new
svn mkdir my/new/directory
svn ci

2. Create the directory directly and immediately in the repository.
svn mkdir svn://myrepos/trunk/new_dir

3. Pretend that you never heard of "file:///". "file:///trunk" is
similar to "svn://myrepos/trunk". However, there's almost never a
reason to use the "file:///" access protocol. Use "svn://myrepos/"
instead. I personally find it abhorrent that "file://" is mentioned in
Chapter 1 of the SVN pdf manual since it needlessly confuses new users.
IMO, "file://" should have been hidden away in the admin section.
