Subject: svnadmin hotcopy clarification required
Hi,
I have a repository (FSFS) of size 59.7 GB and I just took a hotcopy
backup of this repository. The process was successfully completed but
the resulting hotcopy differed greatly in size from the original
repository. (Hotcopy Size: 55.3 GB). I realize that there is a
possibility of data addition in original repository while backup was in
progress resulting in the huge size difference but that is not the case
here, original repository was around 59.7 GB in size before starting the
hotcopy. I even tried again just to make sure that I did everything
right and it gave the same results again.
I have tried to verify the contents of both the repositories and they
seem just fine to me (identical). Hotcopy version is working without a
problem too. The difference in size has raised some doubt in my mind
though. Can anyone please clarify if this difference in size is normal?
Or any robust way to verify the hot copy version against original
repository? Thanks.
