AuthShadow and SVN: Bad idea?

From: Peter Kahn <citizenkahn_at_gmail.com>

Has anyone setup AuthShadow with SVN and is anyone aware of specific
security concerns with this?

I have an internal machine that will be running an artifact SVN server using
the RPM install. My IT group likes to manage access to this box using local
users only. If I am going to control access to the artifact SVN instance,
I'll either need to replicate the identity management using htpasswd (which
I can do) or link in to the existing system (which i'd rather do). LDAP alas
isn't an option.

Has anyone configured Collabnet SVN with Authshadow or know a reason why I
should shy away from it on an internal only server?

Thanks for the help
