This is most probably not due to SVN directly. The error messages you
are report are from Subclipse, which is an Eclipse plugin; unless you
have the same issues using the command line client, your best bet is
posting this to the Subclipse or Eclipse mailing lists.

Subject: Eclipse Subversion Issues
Hope you can help I'm experiencing three different errors whilst using
subversion with eclipse. I suspect they are related to the same
underlying issue but having done a fairly thorough search online I
haven't been able to find any information or clues as to what that might
be. The problems I'm experiencing are:-
1) When I do a synchronise from subversion, I am unable to compare any
of the files marked as having incoming changes with my corresponding
local copies before I do an update. Each time I try I receive the
following error message:
Title:
"Compare Failed"
Text:
"An I/O error peforming an operation on [my working
directory].metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.team.core/.cache/org.tigris.sub
version.subclipse.core/1"
2) When I run call 'compare with' on a local file with any other option
other than 'Base Revision' or 'Local History', the window which should
contain the repository file text is always blank, as though the system
is unable to find the file even though I am able to update my local copy
to that revision using 'Get Revision' after viewing the history.
3) If I compare two previous versions of the same file which are in the
repository, I receive a message saying there are no differences between
the two, even when that is not the case.
The version of eclipse I am using is 3.2.2 running on Fedora 6. If you
need any further information please let me know.
thanks,
Ruth Fitzsimmons
