I would personally like to see some benchmarks comparing Windows (no
virus software), Linux (does dist matter?), Mac done accessing the same
remote repository access over a LAN with the OS installed on the same
Mac hardware natively (not in a VM).

But, I don't want to install Windows and Linux on my Mac. Perhaps
someone already has such an installation.
