Error on svn switch --relocate for 1.4.6

Good Morning

I am in the process of changing our authentication from svn:// to http:// and I am having trouble with the switch command on our 1.4.6 server.

I can checkout a working copy and perform all actions, but when I try to issue a svn switch --relocate I get the following error

svn switch --relocate svn://svn.mycorp.com http://svn.mycorp.com/main/
Authentication realm: <http://svn.mycorp.com:80> Subversion - Enter your username and password
Password for 'user':
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/main'
svn: PROPFIND of '/main': 301 Moved Permanently (http://svn.mycorp.com)

The switch command works correctly from a 1.5.x client, but I cannot upgrade all of my client machines at the moment.

I think I may be able to fix this with an Apache rewrite but I am not sure if that is the best solution.

Has anyone seen this and how did you fix it?

Thanks
