Unable to check out project

I have a subversion project that seems to have become corrupted. When I attempt to check the entire project into a new directory I get an error that a file can't be found.

The project is located at file:///Y:/Programming/DgTools/SVNRepository

On my local comptuer I attempt to checkout the project:

C:\temp\tmp>svn checkout file:///Y:/Programming/DgTools/SVNRepository

Many of the files are checked out then it stops with this error:

svn: In directory 'SVNRepository\DgTools\Common\Trunk\Source'
svn: Can't open file 'SVNRepository\DgTools\Common\Trunk\Source\.svn\tmp\text-base\dgUID.py.svn-base': The system cannot find the file specified.

This "tmp" directory is causing problems and can't be checked out.

The <blah>\Source\tmp directory is very old and can be deleted from the repository if that is a possible solution.
