Embedding Subversion without compiling it

I would like to embed a Subversion client in a large system the runs
under Window XP. We use command-line batch files and make files build
it, mostly using the Microsoft C compiler that comes with Visual Studio
2005. I would like to avoid building the whole of Subversion as part of
the bigger system, instead using the dlls that come with the Subversion
command-line client, which is installed on all of our development
machines already. Is this possible?

Also, is there a collection of examples of using the svn_client
functions beyond what is in the Subversion book?
