  i've seen a number of people claim that what someone is proposing is
to "go back" from SVN to CVS, but that's not what's happening. as i
understand it, the proposal is for the company to simply *stay* with
CVS, as opposed to upgrading. it's still a distasteful choice, but
it's not quite as horrifying as regressing from SVN to CVS.
