Svn randomly prompts for username/password with NTLM

We've seen this with TortoiseSVN 1.5.3 (an svn 1.5.2 client) and a 1.5.2
Windows server running Apache 2.2. Given some of the other intermittent
errors we've seen with the command-line client though, I don't think
this is a TSVN issue which is why I'm sending to the general svn users
group.

One of our users has seen TSVN prompt for his username/password in the
middle of doing an Svn Update. Now there are a few reasons why this is
strange:

1. Our NTLM configuration automatically works without prompting for
credentials so long as your login ID is recognized by the system.
2. It's happening not when the operation begins, but some time into
it. Ordinarily, if NTLM doesn't recognize your login ID, you get
prompted right away, and Svn saves your credentials so you don't get
prompted again.

We've also seen "authorization failed" errors while doing a command-line
(--non-interactive) svn checkout or svn switch that look like this:

svn: REPORT of '[path]/!svn/vcc/default': authorization failed
(https://[server])

And we've seen similar before while doing an svn commit.

It seems as though sometimes NTLM is expiring your credentials within
the connection, but it's not very predictable (it happens more with
large operations, but it happens both over a LAN and over a WAN
connection). Anyone have ideas about this?
