2-URL merge works best?

Hello users,

                 Are there any known issues with using the 2-URL merge syntax?

                svn merge url://trunk@100 url://feature-branch .
(Example taken from an article by Mark Phippard)

                If I chose to do all the book keeping for the revision
that goes with the trunk URL( last revision merged upto), and use it
to reintegrate my branches into the trunk, will it always do the right
thing?

                If a user has never merged from the trunk, but wants
to merge his work back to the trunk, would the revision that goes with
the trunk, be the one when the branch was created?

                 Further more, do I need to get rid of my branch after
using the 2-URL syntax?

Rohan
