Yes, that is precisely the point. This method is most useful when you
have users who do not need (will not get) a shell account, yet you want
to authenticate and authorize them using a certificate. All I was
saying is that you can also use that if the users *do* have a shell
account, but you don't want to give them file:// access to the repo (a
worthy cause in its own right).
