auto-props on the server?

Hi,
Is it somehow possible, to set auto-props on the server-side?

The reason is: I have a lot of Windows-users, that check in the new MS
Office 2007 files, which are in fact ZIP-compressed XMLs. These files are
linked from a Wiki. If you try to open them with this link, the browser
says: "Oh, Apache sends it with the mime-type [application/octet-stream],
let's look, what it really is.. Oh, it's a ZIP, let's open it with the
program for ZIP-Files!"

Unfortunatelly, this is not what I want. It works perfectly, if I set the
property "mime-type" to "application/vnd.openxmlformats", then the files get
opened with MS Office.

My problem ist now that most of my users are not that kind of person, to
understand to set the properties, and distributing config-files on the
desktops is not very elegant, either.

So can't the properties somehow be set on the server automatically?

Cheers,
Klaus
