what apache version is acceptable with subversion 1.5.1?

As mentioned in a previous post, I'm having trouble getting subversion
v1.5.1 to work under apache 2.0.63.

I see in the documentation (INSTALL) that apache 2.0.49 or above is
required.

Is anyone using subversion v1.5.x served by apache 2.0.x?
Is there some special way to build subversion to do this?

I am working with a solaris server.

A couple related things I've found:

the collabnet produced solaris binaries for 1.5.1 include a
    preconfigured http 2.2.8 server.

there is a windows binary package in the source release area -
    windows archive
of svn-win32-1.5.0.zip which states (description) for Apache 2.0.63
    (2.0.63 or higher...)

Thanks much,
    -Steve
