Not to disagree with this[1], but what about other file metadata such as
creation time, file permissions, file owner, ACLs ... ?

I'm actually slightly surprised that the people using subversion for
storing photographs aren't more interested in the creation date than the
last modified data, for example.

[1] Although I, personally, have no need for it.
