This is a one-time announcement of SVNGroup to this mailing list - for
future updates the project is listed on Freshmeat.net as well and can be
subscribed to for update notices.

I am a Subversion administrator and part-time developer charged with coming
up with a flexible solution for access control lists for SVN for my
employer. The software package SVNGroup (http://svngroup.sourceforge.net)
is the result.

SVNGroup is a collection of tools designed to facilitate advanced access
control lists (ACLs) for Subversion repositories. Unlike tools such as
svnperms.py or authz, SVNGroup puts the manipulation of ACLs directly in the
hands of group owners. Group owners are those individuals who have been
granted "special" privileges in the repository and can make decisions
regarding who can and can't submit to a particular location in the

I am motivated to continue to refine this software if it gains wide-spread
usage - if you become a user please feel free to ask support questions
directly (see http://svngroup.sourceforge.net/ for details). At the moment
I consider this to be beta-quality software - it is functioning well enough
for general use but is not guaranteed to be free of defects.
