Is there any way to short circuit the logic there?

Can you give me a pointer to where in the code I can start looking
at this? For instance to get the same "fast-checkout" behavior in
CVS it takes a 5 line patch (a few more lines to make it a command
line option) which just short-circuits the additional code for
the "entries" files.

It would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Any pointers would help.
