Mac OS X does not include an uninstaller, so this is one of the
features of the MacPorts package manager that I really value -- being
able to uninstall packages with one command.
For the binary you've already installed, since it was most probably
installed using the Apple Installer, it left a receipt in /Library/
Receipts. You may be able to find a 3rd-party uninstaller tool that
can read the receipt to uninstall it. Search www.macupdate.com for
"uninstaller" and try them out.
Or you could open the installer package again. If you don't have it
anymore, download it again from wherever you got it. Open it into the
Installer but don't install it. Instead, use the Show Files menu item
(I forget which menu it's in). This shows you all the files that will
be installed. You can then use that list to manually remove the
files. The files listed may not include the prefix into which it was
installed, so you may have to prepend the prefix, which is probably /
usr/local.
