Upgrade of SVN from 1.3.0 to 1.4.4 -> How to migrate repos?

Hi,

is it safe to just copy my 1.3.0 repos to my new server running 1.4.4 or
is it advisable to do a full dump and reload cycle on it?

I tested with a smaller repo and it seems that just transferring the
repo directory to the new machine work fine.
