SVN over mounted/mapped FTP drive.

I currently have a personal repository which is hosted locally but stored on
my ipod. This worked great for me previously because I had a mac at home and
a mac at work. Since the ipod gets mounted at the same location each time I
could easily run svnserve locally and just have it point to the repository
on the external drive.

However, I've since changed jobs and I'm now working on windows.

I found this site explaining the use of netdrive to mount an FTP site as a
local drive.

http://www.ebswift.com/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=SubversionFTP

I thought that I might be able to use this to bridge the operating system
gap.

My question is if I map the FTP site as a drive on windows, run svnserve
locally and have it point to the (remote) drive, would I be able to do the
same thing on my mac at home? Has anyone tried anything like this across
platforms?

Thanks for any help,
Eric
