It sometimes takes more than 2 hours to get a response. The short
answer is: all those "extra" files are how SVN is designed. It's
pretty well-documented what the .svn directories are and why they're
needed. The slow checkout on Windows is most likely due to an
on-access virus scanner getting in the way.
