If you keep the DocumentRoot, <Directory />...</Directory> and the
<Directory /path/to/documentroot>....<Directory> parts in your config
file, it will NOT work. This is what I found out myself while trying
to get it right. If you could send your config file, I can show you
what you need to comment out.
