Something to check...

I tried this back on Subversion 1.2.3, and ran into some nasty
problems. I forgot the details -- timeouts on big checkouts? Anyway,
the answer that came back at the time was "putting a Subversion server
on a Mac is not reliable, don't do it".

One would hope this has been fixed, but you might want to double
check. It was a nice setup when I tried it, efficient and easy to
do. In the end I put the server on Linux (which also was easy).
