Hi Heather,
It could be that the Subversion Service did not start properly when the
machine was rebooted. Go into Services then Stop and Start the service
again. Make sure it starts successfully.
When your connecting to the machine, are you using the IP Address or the
server name? Maybe something happened to the DNS settings on the server
when you rebooted it.
If your trying to connect with the server name, use the IP address
instead. Also, if your using the server name, try with the domain name
fully qualified. For example, instead of <server>, try
<server>.saic.com, or whatever your domain is. I have had issue in the
past, although not Subversion related where the DNS entries were messed
up and I had to fully qualify the server name.
Have you tried to connect from more then one PC? You mentioned that you
cannot ping the machine from your laptop. Can you connect to the
Subversion server from the machine where you were able to ping it? If
so, maybe something to do with the laptop network settings.
Another thing is when you ping it, is there a long wait time, maybe
something is going on with the firewall.
Can you log onto the machine where the repository is and just issue a
simple svn log command to see if you an talk to the repository? If you
can then this will at least tell you it something network or service
related.
I hope something here helps.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Mark
